The Wire: Autumn 2019 – Improving the Services You Receive

Improving the Services You Receive

Electronic Signing

In the final quarter of this year we will be starting an internal pilot of Docusign. This software enables the electronic signing of documents which will make executing documents a lot easier for our clients. We plan to extend this across the firm from January 2020.

HFMC Wealth App and Web Portal

October 2019, we are beginning a six-month pilot project for a client web portal and mobile application to provide clients with aggregated reporting, secure communication and key document storage. We aim to launch this for clients in April 2020 if all goes well!

We are keen to have a small number of clients who would be willing to be a part of the pilot phase. If you are happy to provide feedback, and understand that it is a test and not the finished article, then please do let your Private Client Director

New HFMC Wealth Literature

We have recently launched our new corporate brochure, investment brochure and a suite of client-facing documents.

These are all designed to be easier to understand and more transparent, embodying the themes of “Transparency, Trust and Tailored Advice” – the key values by which we serve our clients.

HFMC Wealth Ltd – Simplifying Working with HFMC Wealth

From this autumn we will begin consolidating our currently four regulated entities to just two.

New clients will now be looked after by our 100% owned FCA regulated subsidiary HFMC Wealth Ltd and we will look to transition existing clients into this entity at their annual review over the following 15 months with updated client agreements. This will greatly help simplify administration across the Group.

Maintaining High Quality and Committed Client Service Teams

Stewart Aldous – retiring

Many of you will know our Private Client Director, Stewart Aldous, who is retiring at the end of November.

Stewart has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the financial services sector and his expertise, experience and client care have been hugely important to us over many years. Many of his clients have been with him for decades, which is testament to the quality of his advice and the superb service he has given them. We wish Stewart the very best for the future.

Tom Hopson – new appointment

We know that succession planning is hugely important to ensure our clients receive a seamless service and that our business continues to flourish. So, we’re delighted to announce the appointment of Tom Hopson, who has worked with Stewart for eight years, as a Private Client Adviser.

Tom has been with us since 2015 and is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. Alongside Phil Jelly and Nick Rudd, both also Chartered Financial Planners, Tom will look after many of Stewart’s clients and we look forward to seeing Tom thrive in his new role.

Additional Technical and Administration Support for David Verney and Marc Ruse

In September 2018, we were very pleased to acquire Generic Financial Management as part of our growth strategy. One of the reasons we carefully selected Generic was because of the high quality and commitment of their professional staff.

The team has now grown, with Louise Headifen joining to provide further technical expertise and support for Private Client Directors Marc Ruse and David Verney. We are also about to hire a second administrator to support the services they provide to the team’s growing number of clients.

Women in Financial Advice: prestigious 2019 awards

We’re proud of the exceptional team that we have here at HFMC Wealth and earlier this summer Caroline Maxwell, Caroline Richmond and Philippa Watson were all nominated and shortlisted for the 2019 Women in Financial Advice award.

Caroline Richmond was also recognised as a finalist in the highly competitive ‘Women of the Year – Paraplanning’ category at the 2019 Women in Financial Advice Awards – a testament to her skill and commitment.

Growing Membership of our Limited Liability Partnership (LLP)

We have invited Private Client Directors Nick Rudd, Marc Ruse and David Verney into our limited liability partnership on the Private Client side of the business.

We have also invited our recently appointed Head of Tax Consultancy and Tax Compliance, Animesh Shrestha, into the partnership to further strengthen our tax team’s capabilities. Having provided consulting services for HFMC Wealth over many years we are delighted that Animesh has now joined us on a permanent basis following his relocation from Nepal.

Equity Release Seminars for Professionals

We are always keen to share useful expertise with other professionals. So, we will shortly begin a series of seminars on equity release for our professional introducers. Please do keep an eye out for more information and invites to these sessions.

HFMC Wealth Group Growth

With the ever-rising need for resources to ensure we can provide top quality advice we recognise the need to prudently grow. We have therefore entered into a period of exclusivity with another IFA firm with a view to acquiring them and bringing further expertise into the firm. We should be able to share more news about this with you in the next edition of The Wire.
