My name is Karen. I’ve been a client with HFMC for about 10 years now, and I’m looked after by Ross Ibbotson, ably assisted by James Taylor. 

I was going through a separation and was going to be selling the family home, so I needed to look at my finances as a whole and how to manage that money best. 

HFMC was recommended to me by my ex-husband. Ross had worked with him for quite some years, so I’d met Ross once before, and I had absolute trust in him, so it felt like a very comfortable place to go. The link that we had with Ross as a family prior to our separation meant that he understood us. I felt that we mattered to him, and that he was looking after our best interests as a family and was able to apply that to me and my girls after the separation, too.

Over the years that I’ve been working with Ross, he’s really helped educate me on finances and investments and develop my understanding of what my risk profile is, as well as what my various options are. He’s helped with life events and decision-making; he was able to advise on house moves and the setting up of my own business while also looking at future planning. 

Working with Ross and James is a pleasure, and they are always there if I need any help. I have so much trust in them, so I feel very reassured and very safe from a financial point of view. 

I would describe Ross as being a very honest and knowledgeable person to deal with, and he individualises everything towards me. 

One of the best things about working with Ross is the reassurance that he, James, and HFMC, as a whole, are always there. They understand me; they’ve been travelling my life-journey with me for the last 10 years. They’re always proactive at making contact if financial markets change and advising me on the best courses of action for me to take during my life changes. 

Ross has given me many valuable pieces of advice, but if I had to pick out one, it would be when we were at the start of the pandemic, and there was a big crash in the markets. It was the first time that I’d invested money for the long term, and he just reassured me, and said, “Not to worry, things will bounce back.” and of course, they did. 

I would wholeheartedly recommend working with HFMC. In my personal experience of working with Ross and James, they have gone above and beyond every step of the way.
